In December 2019, Council approved a resolution authorizing the cost of borrowing for the acquisition of the 753 Water Utility and related District of Hope water utility upgrades to be distributed across the District’s tax base.
To support the remaining costs of this project, the District has adopted a new Water Parcel Tax Bylaw.
District of Hope Water Parcel Tax Bylaw No. 1622, 2026 received first, second, and third readings at the March 23, 2026 Regular Council Meeting and was adopted at the April 27, 2026 Regular Council Meeting.
This bylaw replaces the previous District of Hope Water Parcel Tax Bylaw No. 1171, 2005, which expired on December 31, 2025.
The Water Parcel Tax helps fund critical water infrastructure investments that support the reliability, maintenance, and long-term sustainability of the District’s water system.
