🚨 Boston Bar Evacuation Order

The Fraser Valley Regional District has upgraded the Evacuation Alert for the Boston Bar to an Evacuation Order due to increased wildfire behaviour and risk to the community.

Residents in the affected area must leave immediately and follow the directions of emergency officials.

Smoke Visible in the Hope Area

Residents may notice increased smoke in the Hope area today due to wildfire activity in the region.

Smoke can affect everyone, but older adults, children, pregnant people, and those with heart or lung conditions are at greater risk of experiencing health effects.

To help reduce smoke exposure:
• Stay indoors as much as possible if smoke is affecting you
• Keep windows and doors closed
• Use air conditioning or air filtration on recirculate if available
• Reduce strenuous outdoor activity
• Check in on family, neighbours, and others who may be more vulnerable

🔥 Campfire Prohibition in Effect for the District of Hope 🔥

To help reduce the risk of human-caused wildfires, a campfire prohibition will take effect throughout the District of Hope beginning:

📅 Thursday, July 16, 2026
⏰ 12:00 PM

This prohibition is being implemented in coordination with the BC Wildfire Service and Coastal Fire Centre and will remain in effect until October 31, 2026, or until it is rescinded.

The prohibition does not apply to:
🔥 CSA/ULC-approved portable campfire devices that use briquettes, liquid fuel, or gas
🍳 Propane, gas, or briquette-fueled cooking stoves

Please do your part to help protect our community, neighbouring properties, and surrounding forests during wildfire season.
