The District of Hope Volunteer Fire Department was formally created in 1999 through the amalgamation of the Kawkawa Lake, Flood/Laidlaw/Silver Creek and Hope Fire Departments. Today we serve the municipality and surrounding areas providing fire suppression and emergency response 24/7.
Hope’s three fire halls house various fire apparatus including 3 Engines, 2 Tenders, a CAFS Squad and Incident Support Unit. The department consists of a paid Fire Chief, Deputy Chief, Assistant Chiefs and Volunteer/Paid on Call Firefighters.
Members train weekly on Thursday nights and new recruits are considered annually for basic training. Find out more about becoming a volunteer here.
