Water, Sewer and Stormwater

The District of Hope owns and maintains essential water, sanitary sewer, and stormwater infrastructure that supports public health, protects the environment, and provides reliable services to residents and businesses. These systems represent a significant public investment and require ongoing planning, maintenance, and renewal to ensure they continue to meet the community's needs.

The information below provides an overview of each system, along with links to the District's master plans, which guide long-term infrastructure planning, maintenance, growth, and future capital investments.

Water

The District of Hope Water Systems have a total value of approximately $55 million, including 60 km of pipes. The existing water supply and distribution system has been constructed in the period since the early 1940’s. The District operates four water systems, as follows:

  1. 87m and 138m pressure zones in the central area;

Groundwater is the primary water source used by the District. One exception to this is the Lake
of the Woods area, which is a small system using surface water.
