Business Licence Information
All businesses operating within the District of Hope are required to obtain a valid business licence. Whether you're opening a new business, relocating an existing one, or operating a home-based or mobile business, we're here to help guide you through the application process.
How to Apply
Step 1: Complete Your Application
Complete the Business Licence Application Form and submit it to the District of Hope.

Step 2: Application Review
Once your application has been received, it is reviewed by the District's Planning, Bylaw, Fire, and Corporate Services departments. If additional information or clarification is required, staff will contact you before processing your application.
Step 3: Licence Processing
Business licence applications are typically processed within 10 to 14 business days following submission of a complete application.
Inter-Municipal Business Licence (IMBL)
The District of Hope participates in the Inter-Municipal Business Licence (IMBL) program with several participating municipalities throughout British Columbia.
The IMBL program helps reduce red tape by allowing eligible mobile businesses to operate in multiple participating municipalities with a single Inter-Municipal Business Licence, rather than obtaining separate non-resident licences in each community.
