Water Parcel Tax
The Water Parcel Tax helps fund critical investments in the District of Hope's water infrastructure. Revenue collected through the tax supports the acquisition, renewal, and long-term sustainability of the community's water system, helping ensure reliable water service for residents and businesses.
In December 2019, Council approved borrowing for the acquisition of the 753 Water Utility and related water system upgrades. To support the remaining costs of this project, the District adopted the District of Hope Water Parcel Tax Bylaw No. 1622, 2026.
Bylaw No. 1622, 2026 received first, second, and third readings at the March 23, 2026 Regular Council Meeting and was adopted at the April 27, 2026 Regular Council Meeting. The bylaw replaces the former District of Hope Water Parcel Tax Bylaw No. 1171, 2005, which expired on December 31, 2025.
