Council Meetings
Appearing Before Council
Members of the public may attend Council meetings or request to appear as a formal delegation to Council. The information below outlines meeting protocols, how to submit a delegation request, and the regular Council meeting schedule.
Formalities at Council Meetings
- Comments at Council meetings should be directed to the Mayor or the member of Council presiding at the meeting.
- Please introduce yourself by clearly stating your name and address before making your comments.
- Speak clearly and loudly enough so your input can be heard.
- The Mayor may be referred to as "Your Worship" and Council members as "Councillor."
- Delegations are typically limited to 10 to 15 minutes.
Request to Appear Before Council
You may request to appear as a formal delegation to Council if staff are unable to address your situation, question, or concern.
Requests must be submitted in writing to the Corporate Officer and should include background information about the issue you wish to address.

Your request will be reviewed, and you will be contacted by the Corporate Officer.

Regular Council Meetings begin at 7:00 p.m., unless otherwise posted.

Meetings are held in Council Chambers at the District of Hope Municipal Office, located at 325 Wallace Street, Hope, BC.
Please note: If a statutory holiday falls on a weekend, District Hall will be closed on the Monday and the scheduled Council meeting will be held on the Tuesday.
