Air Quality Advisory – Wildfire Smoke in Hope
Wildfire smoke is currently causing very poor air quality and reduced visibility in the Hope area.

An Air Quality Advisory is in effect for the Eastern Fraser Valley today, August 21, due to wildfire smoke in the region.

Residents are encouraged to reduce their exposure to wildfire smoke:
🏠 Stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed where possible
💨 Use air conditioning or an air cleaner on recirculate if available
🏃 Reduce or postpone strenuous outdoor activities
😷 If you must spend time outdoors, consider wearing a well fitted respirator such as an N95
❤️ Check in on neighbours, family members and others who may be more vulnerable to wildfire smoke

📲 Stay informed with Alertable
With wildfire and smoke conditions changing quickly, residents are strongly encouraged to sign up for Alertable.

The District of Hope, Fraser Valley Regional District and Government of British Columbia use Alertable to send important emergency notifications and local alerts directly to residents.

Download the Alertable app today and make sure notifications are enabled for the Hope area.
