Residents may notice increased smoke in the area today due to wildfire activity in the region.

Current local air quality readings from PurpleAir indicate a PM2.5 Air Quality Index (AQI) of 166, which falls within the Unhealthy range.

Sensitive groups (including older adults, children, pregnant people, and those with heart or lung conditions) may experience more serious health effects. Others may also experience symptoms with prolonged outdoor exposure.

To help reduce smoke exposure:
• Limit strenuous outdoor activities if needed
• Keep windows and doors closed when possible
• Use air filtration or air conditioning on recirculate if available
• Check on family members, neighbours, and others who may be more vulnerable
