The District of Hope will be holding a General Local Election on October 17, 2026, to fill the following positions:

Mayor – 1 person to be elected
Councillor – 6 persons to be elected

July 20, 2026Pre-campaign period begins
July 31, 2026Deadline to apply to register an elector organization
August 10, 2026Nomination Packages available
September 1, 2026Nomination period begins at 9:00 am
September 11, 2026Nomination period closes at 4:00 pm
September 11, 2026Declaration of Candidates after 4:00 pm
September 14, 2026    Mail Ballot Packages are available to request
September 19, 2026Campaign period begins
October 7, 2026First Advance Voting Day (8:00 am to 8:00 pm)
October 14, 2026Second Advance Voting Day (8:00 am to 8:00 pm)
October 15, 2026Last day to request a Mail Ballot at 4:00 pm
October 17, 2026General Voting Day
January 15, 2027Disclosure statement filing deadline
February 16, 2027Late filing deadline for disclosure statements (with $500 fee)
