Hospital Property Fire Risk Update

The District of Hope is aware of community concerns regarding tree-clearing debris and other vegetative material remaining on the hospital property.

District staff are actively working with the property owner, the Hope Fire Department, bylaw enforcement, and other relevant agencies to review available options and reduce fire risk. Due to archaeological requirements on the property, any work involving ground disturbance must follow the appropriate legal and regulatory process before it can proceed.

The District takes these concerns seriously and will continue to monitor the site while working toward a safe and appropriate resolution.
