🦝 A Friendly Reminder About Garbage Carts & Bear Safety

🦝 A Friendly Reminder About Garbage Carts & Bear Safety
We're reminding everyone to help keep Hope clean, safe, and less attractive to bears and other wildlife.

🗑️ Collection Day
Please place your garbage cart at the curb on your scheduled collection day only, between 4:30 a.m. and 7:00 a.m.

After Collection
Garbage carts must be returned to their storage area by 9:00 p.m. on collection day.

🏡 Proper Storage
When not at the curb, carts must be stored in a wildlife-resistant enclosure, such as a garage, shed, or other secure structure that prevents bears and other animals from accessing garbage.

🐻 Living in Bear Country
Garbage is one of the biggest attractants for bears. Properly storing your cart helps reduce wildlife conflicts and keeps our community safer for everyone.

These requirements are part of the District's Good Neighbour and Solid Waste Management Bylaw. While receiving a ticket is never ideal, these regulations help protect our neighbourhoods, our residents, and our local wildlife.

Thank you for doing your part to keep Hope clean, safe, and bear aware.
