🚨 Be Prepared Before an Emergency: Set Up Your BC Services Card App

If you ever need to register for Emergency Support Services (ESS) during an evacuation, being prepared ahead of time can make the process much easier.

The District of Hope encourages residents to take a few minutes now to:

📱 Download and set up the BC Services Card app

Make sure your identity is verified and that you know how to access your account. Identity verification may take a couple of days or longer, particularly during an emergency when demand may be high, so completing this step in advance is recommended.

✅ Create your Evacuee Registration & Assistance (ERA) profile
Pre-registering means your information is already available if you need emergency support during an evacuation.

🏠 Know what ESS can provide
Emergency Support Services can provide short-term assistance to evacuees, including accommodations, food, clothing, transportation and other essential supports.

During an emergency, you may have very little time to prepare, and increased demand may result in delays. Setting things up now can help make accessing assistance easier when you need it most.

Be ready before you need it.
