♻️ What’s In Our Recycling?

Hope’s latest curbside recycling audit found that 16.3% of the material sampled was incompatible with curbside recycling.

Some items found included:
🛍️ Plastic bags and flexible plastic packaging
🔌 Electronics
🔧 Scrap metal
👕 Clothing and textiles
🧻 Personal hygiene products

These items don’t belong in your curbside recycling cart. Before tossing something in, check whether it’s accepted… and remember that being recyclable doesn’t always mean it belongs at the curb! Not sure? Check: recyclebc.ca/what-can-i-recycle

Don’t forget! The Hope Bottle Depot, located at 517A Corbett Street, accepts beverage containers, end-of-life electronics and small appliances.

Incorrectly sorted materials can contaminate otherwise recyclable items, create safety risks for workers and make the recycling process less effective.

Thank you for taking a little extra time to sort. Together, we can keep Hope’s recycling clean!
