Community Update – Fraser Canyon Wildfire Response
Community Update – Fraser Canyon Wildfire Response
The District of Hope extends its support to our neighbours in the Fraser Canyon who are being impacted by the current wildfire situation.
We want residents to know that the District from the outset, has been working closely with the Fraser Valley Regional District (FVRD), the BC Wildfire Service, emergency management partners, and local agencies to support response efforts wherever possible. We remain in regular communication with these organizations and are prepared to provide assistance as needs arise.
Yesterday, the District deployed a fire apparatus and two firefighters to assist with wildfire suppression efforts in the affected area. We are proud of our emergency personnel and staff who continue to support regional response activities while maintaining services within our community.
The District is committed to being a strong regional partner during emergencies. We will continue to respond to requests for assistance, provide resources where available, and support the coordinated efforts being led by the FVRD and BC Wildfire Service.
We encourage residents to stay informed through official information channels and to follow updates issued by the BC Wildfire Service and the Fraser Valley Regional District. As the situation evolves, we will continue to work collaboratively with our regional partners to support affected communities and ensure the safety and well-being of residents throughout the Fraser Canyon.
Our thoughts are with everyone impacted by these wildfires, including residents, emergency responders, and volunteers working tirelessly to protect lives and property.
