Flood Watch Update & High Wind Advisory - December 15, 2025 (Evening)
🌧️ Flood Watch Update & High Wind Advisory
📅 December 15, 2025 – Afternoon
The River Forecast Centre has upgraded and maintained a Flood Watch for the Fraser Valley, including the Hope area, as a series of atmospheric river systems continues to impact the South Coast.
💨 High Winds
Strong and gusty winds are now affecting the area and may:
• Down trees and power lines
• Cause power outages
• Lead to property damage and flying debris
Residents are advised to stay away from windows, avoid unnecessary travel, and delay any clean-up or outdoor work until conditions improve.
The Hope Fire Department and Operations crews are out in the community and actively monitoring conditions.
🌊 Flood Watch – Fraser Valley & Surrounding Areas
Ongoing heavy rain combined with warmer temperatures and snowmelt at higher elevations is increasing runoff into local rivers and streams. Elevated water levels and fast-moving flows are expected to continue into Tuesday, with additional systems forecast later this week.
⚠️ Safety Reminders
• Stay well back from fast-moving rivers and unstable banks
• Never drive through flooded roads or crossings
• Watch for debris, erosion, and rapidly changing conditions
• Keep storm drains clear near your property if it is safe to do so
