Wildfire smoke is once again significantly impacting air quality in the Hope area.

As of approximately 3:00 p.m. today, August 12, local air quality sensors are showing US EPA PM2.5 AQI readings in the mid-150s, indicating unhealthy air quality conditions. Conditions have worsened considerably over the course of the day and may continue to change quickly.

Residents are encouraged to reduce their exposure to wildfire smoke:
🏠 Stay indoors and keep windows and doors closed where possible
💨 Use air conditioning or an air cleaner on recirculate if available
🏃 Reduce or postpone strenuous outdoor activities
😷 If you must be outdoors for an extended period, consider wearing a well-fitted respirator such as an N95
❤️ Check in on neighbours, family members and others who may be more vulnerable to wildfire smoke
