Aaron Van Eyk Appointed Director of Engineering

The District of Hope is pleased to recognize the appointment of Aaron Van Eyk as Director of Engineering, a newly established role that will strengthen the District’s capacity to manage and improve its municipal infrastructure.

Aaron brings more than 10 years of engineering consulting experience to the role. Throughout his career, he has designed road, stormwater, sanitary sewer and water systems and managed a wide range of developments, including subdivisions, townhouses, apartment buildings and non-market housing projects.

His technical experience also includes hydraulic modelling, fire-flow analysis, hydrology and land surveying.

Aaron is a registered Professional Engineer with Engineers and Geoscientists British Columbia and holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering from the British Columbia Institute of Technology.

As the District’s first Director of Engineering, Aaron is looking forward to helping the organization plan for, manage and improve the infrastructure that supports the community now and into the future.

Having called Hope home for just over six years, Aaron brings both professional expertise and a personal connection to the community.

“I enjoy working to make Hope a more desirable place to live and recreate,” Aaron says.

Outside of work, Aaron makes the most of Hope’s natural surroundings through trail running, backcountry skiing and rock climbing. He is also an amateur radio enthusiast.

Aaron’s appointment reflects the District’s continued focus on responsible infrastructure planning and provides dedicated engineering leadership as the community grows and its infrastructure needs evolve.

Congratulations, Aaron!
