NOTICE OF WAIVER OF PUBLIC HEARING Proposed Zoning Amendment Bylaw No. 1404

Pursuant to Section 464(2) of the Local Government Act, notice is hereby given that Council of the District of Hope has waived the holding of a public hearing in relation to proposed Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1404. Section 464(2) provides for the waiving of public hearings in relation to land use bylaws that are consistent with an Official Community Plan (OCP) Bylaw; and, in this instance, Amendment Bylaw No. 1404 is seen to be consistent with the District of Hope OCP Bylaw 1378. 
District of Hope Municipal Council will consider third reading of the bylaw at its regular meeting scheduled for Monday, January 22, 2018 at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers located at 325 Wallace Street, Hope, BC V0X 1L0. Subject Properties: Lot 4 Plan 6127, 949 Third Avenue; Lot 11 Plan 3665, 969 Third Avenue; and Lot 12 Plan 3665, 979 Third Avenue.   Purpose:  Bylaw 1404 proposes to amend the District of Hope Zoning Bylaw 1324 to correct a zoning discrepancy for the properties at 949, 969 and 979 Third Avenues locally recognized as the Grace Baptist Church. 
The subject properties are currently zoned Single Family Residential (RS-1) which permits a one family residence and not zoned Institutional (P-2) which permits a place of worship.  
For further information about the content of Zoning Amendment Bylaw 1404, persons are encouraged to review a copy of the proposed bylaw and supporting report at the District of Hope Municipal Hall, 325 Wallace Street, Hope, BC from December 18-22, 2017 and January 1-8, 2018 between the hours of 8:30 am to 4:30 pm excluding weekends and statutory holidays.
The bylaw and report may also be reviewed in the December 11, 2017 Council agenda.
