The District of Hope will be holding a General Local Election on October 17, 2026, to fill the following positions:

Mayor – 1 person to be elected
Councillor – 6 persons to be elected

July 20, 2026	Pre-campaign period begins
July 31, 2026	Deadline to apply to register an elector organization
August 10, 2026	Nomination Packages available
September 1, 2026	Nomination period begins at 9:00 a.m.
September 11, 2026	Nomination period closes at 4:00 p.m.
September 11, 2026	Declaration of Candidates after 4:00 p.m.
September 14, 2026	Mail Ballot Packages are available to request
September 19, 2026	Campaign period begins
October 7, 2026	First Advance Voting Day (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
October 14, 2026	Second Advance Voting Day (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
October 15, 2026	Last day to request a Mail Ballot at 4:00 p.m.
October 17, 2026	General Voting Day (8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.)
January 15, 2027	Disclosure statement filing deadline
February 16, 2027	Late filing deadline for disclosure statements ($500 fee)
