The District of Hope works to process business licence applications in a timely fashion. The process below outlines the steps for a quick and successful application.
Step 1, Complete the Application Form:
Complete the business licence application form and submit it to the District office. You can download a business licence application here. Please direct any questions you may have about the application process to the Finance Clerk, Janet Johnston at firstname.lastname@example.org or (604) 869 5607 ext 309.
Step 2, Review by the District of Hope:
Once an application is submitted it is reviewed by 4 departments: Planning, Bylaw, Fire Department, and Corporate Services. If there are any concerns with your business endeavor the District will contact you for further information and clarification. Upon approval the Finance Clerk will process the application.
Step 3, Notification:
It is the District of Hope’s goal to process our business licence applications within 10-14 working days from the date of submission.
Inter-Municipal Business Licences
The District of Hope continues to collaborate with Abbotsford, Chilliwack, City of Langley, Township of Langley, Maple Ridge, Mission, Pitt Meadows and Surrey in offering an Inter-Municipal Business License (IMBL). The IMBL reduces red tape by allowing mobile businesses to operate in more than one municipality by purchasing one license, rather than by obtaining non-resident permits in each municipality in which they operate.
